Can anyone tell me about the game tester positions?

I have always wanted to go into the video game industry, I love to play I have been playing since I can remember since the first Sega and the first Nintendo Now my favorite is PlayStation. I would love one day to work for Sony but I just don't have the money to go to college right now. I was looking for a new job to get my foot in the door and I came across a website that has a position for a game tester and I got so excited until I saw how much you had to pay just to join. Is that legit? I emailed the website and the only response I got back was "We endeavor to reply shortly" it has been two days. What do you think? Please help I really need to know before I pay.....
