What is up with him...does he like me or not?

to make a long story short...this guy and i were "talking" for a while and we reallllly liked each other and just when i thought he was going to ask me out he started ignoring me and wanted nothing to do with me. so i gave him space for like 2 weeks and now we are slowly starting to talk again and become freinds.....BUT he always flirts with me (subtly) but i can tell. and he always stairs at me or tries to be by me in the hallway. its so weird becuase i was/am trying to get over him but it seems like hes starting to like me again..and i like him but i dont kno where this is going. and i dont wanna get hurt again :( what do you think?
